Overview

DoraBot is designed with data minimisation in mind. We collect and retain only the information that is genuinely necessary to provide requested features, maintain reliability, and ensure fair use of the service. We do not sell data, and we avoid retaining information longer than required.

By inviting, configuring, or interacting with DoraBot on Discord, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, you should refrain from using the bot and remove it from your server.

This policy reflects DoraBot’s current data retention practices. Archived versions of this policy are available upon request, and material changes are communicated in advance where possible.

Defined Terms

“We”, “Us”, or “Our” refer to DoraBot as a service or the DoraBot development team.
“The Bot” refers specifically to DoraBot and its associated features.
“Zak”, “ZTGA”, or “Zak The GoAnimator” refer to the creator and operator of DoraBot.
“Discord” refers to the platform on which DoraBot operates, governed by its own terms and policies.
“Server” refers to a Discord server in which DoraBot is installed.
“User” or “Member” refers to any individual interacting with DoraBot within a server.
“Personal Data” means information relating to an identifiable individual (for example, a birthday if provided).
“Non-Personal Data” means technical or configuration data that does not identify an individual.

Information Collection

DoraBot collects information only to the extent required to operate its features. Data collection is limited, purposeful, and feature-driven. DoraBot does not monitor conversations, store message content, or passively observe user activity.

Types of Information Collected

Server and Configuration Data:
- Server, channel, role, and user IDs required to apply settings and permissions.
- Feature configuration such as enabled modules, selected channels, and role mappings.
Feature-Specific User Data:
- XP, levels, currency balances, saved roles, shop purchases, and similar gameplay or utility data.
- Server-managed blacklists or ban-on-sight lists used to automatically enforce server rules.
- Birthday information when explicitly provided by a user.
Temporary Inputs: Command inputs required for immediate processing are handled in memory and discarded unless explicitly saved as part of a feature.

Data Not Collected

DoraBot does not store message content or chat logs.
DoraBot does not track users across servers beyond feature requirements.
DoraBot does not request or store sensitive personal information.

Data Usage

Collected data is used solely to operate DoraBot’s features as configured by server administrators and users. Data is not used for advertising, marketing, or profiling.

Execute commands and automate configured behaviours.
Maintain server-level settings and member-related feature data.
Prevent abuse, ensure fair use, and diagnose operational issues.

Data Retention

DoraBot retains data only for as long as it is genuinely needed. Retention periods are designed to be lenient enough to accommodate accidental removals while ensuring that stale data is not kept indefinitely.

Server Removal: If DoraBot is removed from a server for any reason (including kicks or bans), all data associated with that server—including configuration, feature settings, and server-linked member data—will be permanently deleted after thirty (30) days.
Member Removal: If a member leaves or is removed from a server for any reason, all data associated with that member for that specific server (for example, levels, currency, saved roles, or shop items) will be permanently deleted after thirty (30) days.
Server Blacklists and Ban-on-Sight Lists: These lists are treated as server-managed configuration. Entries are not automatically removed when a user leaves a server. They remain in effect until modified by server administrators or until DoraBot is removed from the server, at which point they follow the standard server deletion schedule.
Retention Extensions: If a server owner or administrator requires an extension to these retention periods for a legitimate reason, they may contact the developer directly to request assistance.

Birthday Announcement Feature

Retention: Birthday data is retained indefinitely once set. This is necessary to prevent abuse of the system, such as repeated changes to trigger announcements.
Modification: Users may change their birth year at any time. The birth month and day cannot be changed once set without direct intervention.
Correction or Removal: If birthday data needs to be corrected or fully erased, users must contact the developer directly. Requests are handled manually to prevent impersonation or misuse.

User Rights

Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data, subject to verification and technical feasibility. Server administrators may manage server-level data through configuration or by removing the bot.

Modifications to this Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in features, retention practices, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated in advance where possible.

Jurisdiction & Regional Notices

DoraBot is wholly developed and operated from Canada. Where local laws impose additional obligations or grant additional rights, those requirements will be honoured as applicable.
